WE SERVE.  That's the Lions motto.  It's more than mere words, though...it's truly what we do.  Though we support various secondary causes and provide humanitarian aid around the world in other ways, as Lions our main focus is helping the blind and sight-impaired.

The following organizations receive annual funding from the Conway Noon Lions Club as we serve others in our community, state, and around the world:

Chartered as a non-profit corporation on April 17,1986, the Arkansas Eye Bank & Laboratory, Inc. (AEG&L) was formed to provide medically certified corneal tissue to Arkansas. The leadership of the board provides a unique blend of lay people who are members of Lions Clubs International, teaching physicians, and physicians in private practice.

Leader Dog for the Blind was founded in 1939 to train dogs to lead the blind and provide facilities whereby these guide dogs may be obtained. Any blind person over the age of 16, physically and mentally able to accept training, is eligible. A Leader Dog is available free of charge.

Lions Clubs International Foundation is a public, nonprofit, tax–exempt corporation and is the charitable arm of Lions Clubs International. LCIF supports the efforts of Lions around the world in serving their local communities and the world community through humanitarian service projects.

LWSB began in 1939 as a program to train and employ blind persons to operate vending stands. In 1946 the Lions Clubs of Arkansas provided funds to allow the facility to expand services as a comprehensive rehabilitation center. In 1947, the first blind trainee was admitted for training. Since that time, more than 8,000 persons form 50 States and 56 other nations have been served. LWSB has become a rehabilitation center unique in the world and international in scope. It is the largest, most complete center of its kind. Its programs have been copied through out the world.

Mid-South Lions is a regional sight and hearing service located in Memphis, TN and is an endorsed entity of Lions Club International and the Lions of Arkansas. A board of directors elected each year at the annual meeting operates the Center. There is no charge to the patient or the club for medical services (other than transportation and prosthetics, such as eye glasses, hearing aids or artificial eyes) provided by Mid-South.
